Position: Bell Labs Consulting Computational Modeling Intern
Duration: 10 weeks

Education Recommendations

Pursuing a PhD or MS degree in Computer Science, Informatics or Operations Research with concentration in Data Analytics, Computational Modeling and Simulation, Software Engineering, or related disciplines.

What you will learn and contribute to

  • Digital transformation value proposition and enablers such as 5G networks, AI/ML, and cloud technology

  • New value networks and business and operating models powered by cutting edge technologies

  • Developing insights into intent-driven, zero touch network automation strategies

  • Building a multi-objective, techno-economic framework for 5G slice management

As part of our team, you will:

  • Develop an understanding of network operators' strategic objectives for 5G deployments and the needs, opportunities and constraints related to 5G slicing

  • Formulate hypothesis and conduct research in the domains of interest

  • Define and/or enhance techno-economic models for 5G slicing and dynamic slice admission policies

  • Implement appropriate models, simulations, and tools

  • Prepare presentations and reports to share findings

What is Nokia looking for from me

  • Ability to formulate, research and analyze complex techno-economic and operational problems

  • Ability to conduct research and develop solutions with minimal supervision

  • Strong communication, presentation and writing skills

You have:

  • Background in computational modeling

  • Understanding of networks and wireless technology

  • Knowledge and skills to develop analytical and/or empirical models

  • Knowledge of data analytics and machine learning algorithms, tools, and libraries

  • Software development skills (full stack)

It would be nice if you also had:

  • Prior research and development experience

  • Any publications or presentations

  • Experience in telecommunications and digitalization technology
