STV currently has an opening in our New York City office for a Mechanical Engineering Specialistin ourBuildings division. In this position you will have the opportunity to work as part of a team of engineers and designers on multiple projects for the Buildings Industry. KeyResponsibilities:

  • In coordination with engineers and other designers, produce construction drawings and plan set using computer-aided drafting programs (knowledge of AutoCAD software and Revit is a plus).
  • Completes tasks on projects including HVAC designs for multiple markets.
  • Closely work with other members of the project team with a willingness to take on more responsibilities as your experience evolves.
  • Work closely with design leads and engineers in recommending the best use of CAD/BIM tools to achieve project objectives, troubleshoot and resolve issues with CAD/BIM tools.
  • Perform thorough quality control edits (red lines) of construction documents as directed by design team and utilizing the correct project and/or company standards.
  • Assist on site visits with project/survey team.
  • Demonstrate good character traits and rapport with colleagues.

Capabilities and Credentials:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering is required.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects under the guidance of project managers / engineers / lead designers.
  • Ability to read and understand construction documents such as, drawings, sketches, 3d representations, etc.
  • Ability to solve problems using sound professional judgment, creativity and innovation.
  • Ability to retain information, details, procedures for use on future projects.
  • Working knowledge in Microsoft (MS) Office Suite, AutoCAD 2D, and other BIM programs. Entry level experience in Revit, Navisworks and MicroStation is a plus.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Able to work under and meet tight deadlines.
  • Punctual, dependable, detail-oriented, thorough.
  • Develop towards the ability to work independently, with minimal supervision.

Compensation Range:

$66,828.00 - $89,104.00
