The Dispute Associate investigates and resolves fraudulent merchant disputes involving debit & credit card point of sale and PIN-based transactions, ATM transactions, and person-to-person transactions. The Associate ensures compliance with current regulations including Federal Regulation E, Federal Regulation Z and Mastercard.
Here's what you can expect from the job and what you need to be successful:
Job Duties:
Proactively detect fraudulent activity and/or billing errors by analyzing account and member information
Mitigate loss and perform recovery by following appropriate rules and regulations
Administer dispute decisions and make member account adjustments; process disputes quickly and accurately, following up with members and merchants as appropriate
File compliance cases and/or escalate disputes to pre-arbitration or arbitration as required
Respond to inquiries from internal Associates regarding credit and debit card issues
Identify and recommend updates or improvements in Card Services processes and procedures
Essential Skills:
Minimum one year in supporting card fraud and/or merchant dispute within the financial services industry
Strong written and oral communication skills over a variety of channels that include email, face to face, corporate chat systems for overall team synergy and production
Strong analytical and problem solving skills; ability to resolve complex issues with minimal direction
Ability to adapt to changing business needs and prioritize accordingly
Ability to foster strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
Demonstrated effective time management skills and the ability to work independently or in a collaborative team environment
Familiarity with Federal Regulation E, Federal Regulation Z and MasterCard
Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite; particularly Word and Excel
Minimum Education:High School Diploma or equivalent
Location: Hillsboro Corporate Office - Hillsboro, OR 97124 (HYBRID)
Target Compensation in Hillsboro OR: $19.23 to $23.08 hourly + annual bonus
