PURPOSE
The Analytical Probes Manufacturing Technician assembles small probe products within time & quality requirements according to company specifications. Performs a variety of electro-mechanical assembly operations on probe tips. Applies acquired job skills and company policies and procedures to complete assigned tasks. Assembly technicians must multi-task and oversee multiple processes with a high attention to details in a very fast-pace production environments.

Shift: Monday-Friday, 7:30am-4:00pm

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Manufacturing Technician II will be responsible for
  • Perform all technical duties of an Assembly Test I, and II as needed.
  • Assemble microelectronics components using epoxy and UV curing.
  • Using grinding equipment to flat and the coax to meet the customer's specification.
  • Perform assembly and testing of probe tips.
  • Soldering very small coax high frequency probe.
  • Ability to read and comprehend the documentation, drawings, and bills of materials.
  • Performs incoming and outgoing inspection of parts and coupons.
  • Maintain accurate and complete paperwork requirements for the operation/job being worked on.
  • Identify and communicate any quality/production related issues or bottlenecks to superiors.
  • Participates in ongoing process improvements.
  • Collect, organize, and evaluate Statistical Process Control (SPC) data.
  • Follow security, safety, and quality procedures for all work performed.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience with small parts assembly.
  • Requires at least 3 years of production experience in microscope assembly.
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in manufacturing environment.
  • Minimum of 3 year of experience in the operation of complex mechanical equipment. soldering skill required
  • Basic reading, writing and math skills.
  • Working knowledge of mechanical assembly practices such as gluing, UV, or heat curing.
  • Ability to use a digital microscope (~75% time spent during assigned shift will be at this operation).
  • Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Able to read, comprehend, and execute complex work instructions.
  • Read and understand all documentation related to tool-operations.
  • Ability to use a variety of hand tools and calibration equipment.
  • Ability to read and work from established drawings and to follow instructions.
  • Experience with PC and Microsoft applications skill in Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Work overtime as required.
  • Ability to work and excel in a team environment.
  • Requires ability to use probe assembly fixtures.
  • Ability to quickly learn, grasp and perform new tasks.
  • Ability to know how to solder.
  • Attention-to-detail and accuracy regarding administrative tasks and paperwork-related requirements.
Work Environment
  • Must be able to sit and to work on microscope operations for extended periods of time (~75%).
  • Able to perform detailed visual inspection and a variety of other tool-related operation tasks that may be performed either manually or be automated.
  • Able to wear safety lab equipment such as safety glasses and protective eye wear.
  • Ability to learn and follow safety procedures.
  • Able to lift, push and pull up to 10-15lbs (boxes, carts, etc)
  • Able walk long distances (walking back and forth in Mfg floor)
  • Requires the ability to perform repetitive hand and wrist movements.
  • Requires the ability to work with hazardous materials and chemicals and follow safety procedures.

The pay range for this role in Beaverton, OR is between $16.45 and $21.57. The pay range may differ in other locations. FormFactor maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in education, training, skills, relevant work experience, business needs and market demands. Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.
