The Armstrong Tectum Plant in Newark, Ohio is looking for a part-time Plant Coordinatorto assist with the overall office administration and human resources at the Newark/Hebron Plant. The Plant Coordinator will be responsible for providing timely, accurate and efficient administrative support and events planning activities.

What you'll be doing

  • Performs administrative assistance duties, some of which are of a confidential nature.
  • Receive and direct incoming visitors
  • Answers phone and directs calls as required.
  • Receive, process, and distribute all internal/external mail
  • Maintain and restock inventory of office supplies and other general plant supplies, proactively communicating supply order requests.
  • Provide new hires and replace Kronos badges
  • Food and supply procurement, meetings, and celebrations (coordinates lunches, meetings, cookouts, etc)
  • Communicate with various departments and all levels of management
  • Additional Administrative Tasks and special projects as required
  • Manage or assist in various HR duties including new employee hiring process, new employee orientation, and benefits.
  • Assists in sending incoming new hires for drug screens and collects copies of required pre-employment documents and information.
  • Responsible for maintaining all plant hourly personnel records including attendance records as required, notifying the HR Manager when disciplinary action is necessary, ensure completion and return for filing
  • Monitors and compiles data for EEO purposes; maintains confidential records for preparation of and inclusion in plant Affirmative Action Program.
  • Maintain and update the bid job tracker
  • Completes and manages personnel profiles, job and position profiles and organization structure changes for all hourly employees.
  • Serves as a resource to all employees on confidential and personal benefit questions and/or issues.
  • Support hourly employeeswithrequests/questions/changes related to payroll and HR related issues (access to check stubs, vacation requests, STD, LTD and FMLA).
  • Responsible for maintaining bulletin boards; updating and posting plant policies, procedures and HR-related Government / State / Corporate required for the Plant.
  • Commit to and follow the facility Mission, Vision, and Values that support the Armstrong Operating Principles
  • Attend and participate in all required company training
  • Conform to all company policies and procedures

About the location (Newark OH)

Tectum, Inc., a subsidiary of Armstrong World Industries, Inc. (AWI), is one of fifteen Armstrong plants in North America. Our Tectum manufacturing plant employs manypeople across 2 shifts who are involved in the manufacturing and shipping of our Tectum product. With over 60 years of innovation and experience in reducing noise worldwide, our Tectum plant has the right product for your noise problem.

This position is located in beautiful and historical Newark, Ohio, the county seat of Licking County, 40 miles northeast of Columbus. We also have another location in nearby Hebron. Licking County has lots to offer.
