Job Summary:
Production Maintenance Technician III opportunities are available for a qualified individual with proven maintenance skills. Responsibilities include efficient preventative maintenance and repair of food manufacturing and packaging equipment, including Aseptic Fillers, Cappers, Packer and/or High Temperature Processing (HTP), Extraction and Mix Blending equipment. Can execute Preventative, Corrective and Break down Work Orders under direction of a Level III, Lead or Supervisor. Perform other maintenance duties as assigned.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Performs all duties and responsibilities required of Production Technicians I and II.
- Performs planned, corrective, and unplanned maintenance on specified equipment.
- Maintain all equipment - minimize downtime - perform and record all activities as required by the Maintenance Department.
- Ability to read, explain and understand Maintenance Manuals for proper repair and care.
- Ability to identify equipment failure in a timely manner and perform repair.
- Capable of effectively supporting more senior mechanics in complex repairs or services.
- Capable of using Microsoft Office applications - Word, Outlook, and Excel.
- Capable of giving Level I Technicians direction on assigned Work Orders.
- Accurately and effectively enters time, parts and follow ups into CMMS System.
- Provides coaching to Level I Technicians on use of CMMS & TPMS.
- Write Corrective Work Orders utilizing the CMMS System.
- Accurately repair, First Time Right, downed equipment.
- Train and coach Level I's and Facilities Technicians on technical and procedural duties.
- Remain current on all Alchemy, Food Safety and Package Integrity Training as directed.
- Executes the preventive maintenance program as directed by, Lead and Supervisor.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Directly supports all Food Safety and Quality requirements.
- Inspects operating machines and equipment for conformance with operational standards.
- Maintains communication (oral and written) within the maintenance team to ensure smooth shift transitions.
- Other duties, as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Five plus years related experience in a food grade facility.
- A self-starter capable of working in a team-based environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Aseptic processing and high-speed form/fill/seal packaging experience.
- Tetra Pak experience.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations.
- Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.
- Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages.
- Ability to solve practical problems and the ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral diagram or schedule form.
- Knowledge of business software, and manufacturing software.
Additional Considerations:
- Location: This role is at our SunOpta Plant in Midlothian, TX.
- This position will be a 2-2-3 pattern on nights, 6 pm - 6: 30 am. Some flexibility is needed.
- $2.00/hour night shift differential available for the 12-hour night shift pattern.
