Ready Mix Plant Maintenance Technician

Job Summary:
Mechanically maintaining and fabricating all the components of Ready-Mix Facilities including, conveyor systems, air systems, baghouses, and plumbing
- Identifying and repairing mechanical failures and implementing preventative maintenance applications

Essential Duties and/or Responsibilities:
An individual in this position may be called upon to do any or all the following essential functions. These examples DO NOT include all the duties which the individual may be expected to perform.

-Keep equipment running and maintained properly
-Use cutting torch and perform welding tasks
-Clean work areas
-Operate lifting devices
-Fabricate parts and equipment
-Perform maintenance & repairs on plants
-Troubleshoot equipment
-Report information accurately on timecard and other needed reports
-Operate loaders
-Operate telehandler
-Perform other duties as assigned
-Timely and regular attendance is essential

-Mechanical abilities
-Ability to perform basic welding & cutting torch tasks
-Cutting torch operation skills

-Ability to troubleshoot and problem solve situations/problems

-Ability to drive vehicles and maintain appropriate licensure
-Knowledge and application of safe driving techniques
-Ability to operate automatic and manual transmission vehicles
-Ability to read maps and follow directions, including two-way radio communication skills

-Ability to work with difficult people
-Ability to maintain positive customer relations

-Ability to work independently
-Basic working knowledge of electrical, plumbing, cutting/welding, mechanicals, and other ready-mix related components

Physical Requirements:
- Extensive walking on uneven surfaces
- Lift and carry up to 100 pounds
- Verbal communication with co-workers
- Exposure to dust, fumes, odors
- Hand eye coordination
- Exposure to mists, adhesives, acids
- Frequent and/or extended periods requiring kneeling, bending, and/or twisting
- Operating equipment at night under artificial lighting
- Working in all weather conditions for extended period

Compensation:
$31.07 - $33.57/HR
Minimum Qualifications:
-Must be self-motivated
-Capable of getting a commercial driver license (CDL)
-Previous experience in ready-mix plant maintenance is preferred
-Proficient in using hand, power, and diagnostic tools
-Skilled in electrical power/controls, mechanical systems
-Previous welding experience is preferred
-Experience with heavy machinery is also preferred, but not required
-High school diploma/GED is preferred
-Must be able to work overtime and be flexible with hours (daytime/nighttime)
