Duties & Responsibilities
The AM Regional Waste & Recycle Regulated Services Lead will have a primary focus on managing a team of waste SME's day to day operations of our Zero Waste Program to meet our client's waste diversion to landfill goals including mitigation of risk of violation of local waste regulatory environmental requirements. This is including but not exclusive of cleaning/custodial, solid waste & recycling, coordination of services to labs, shipping & receiving and construction waste with additional guidance from the JLL Corporate JLL Subject Mater Experts (SME). The person in this role will strive toward innovation, assist in lowering cost of delivery and work with suppliers to integrate the service into operations while dramatically enhancing the customer experience. The AMS Regional Waste & Recycle Services Lead will collaborate with quality assurance to ensure effective participation in and adherence to quality programs. They will drive towards a higher level of waste diversion as well as ensuring site teams are achieve minimum scoring metrics as stipulated in both Client and Vendor contracts. This role will also have a key role with employee/customer engagement to educate the value of the waste & recycle programs and the impacts it has on our environment.

Results: Assist in site teams with implementation, tracking, and monitoring of zero waste programs and initiatives in alignment of company's waste diversion targets, procedures, and processes, ensuring accurate and complete asset-level data collection and continuing performance improvement and keeping internal stakeholders engaged and informed. Support the refinement of operating and reporting guidelines and procedures as they relate to waste industry standards.

Data Collection and Verification: Ensure site teams verify waste data through regular communication with vendor management, leveraging the data to identify and improve the performance of individual client sites, including during annual budgeting. Assist in preparing presentations including waste performance and ROI analysis for program investments.

Data Collection: The Regional AMS Waste Lead will be responsible to ensure waste data is accurate work closely with site and regional IFM managers on best practices with data collection.

Preferred Certifications: The AMS Waste SME Lead will be expected to understand and operate under the TRUE USGBC principles.
Waste Diversion Efficiency: Assist their site teams and IFM managers with the planning, design and implementation of various waste diversion efficiency measures. Monitor and track waste diversion practices that have been implemented to ensure goals are met.

Waste Benchmarking: Analyze and monitor Waste data trends and ensure sites maintain compliance in local and state waste management regulatory requirements. Update internal stakeholders and IFM managers on pending changes in mandates and ordinances.

Vendor Management: The person hired for this position will be a key contact point for vendors who deliver waste management related assessments and project implementation on our properties across the US. They will provide direction, share best practices, and coordinate efforts between vendors and internal team members with regards to waste initiatives.

Climate Risk & Resilience: Support US Sustainability Team's efforts to review asset-level physical disaster risk exposure and risk management implications across the portfolio.
Works with Other regional leads (APJ, EMEA and US), Regional Specialists, and Contract management personnel, IFM management. Interface with the Global Sustainability Team to share best practices and collaborate on best known methods.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in environmental sciences, sustainability, or related field. Master's degree preferred or minimum of 5 years of experience in waste management, sustainability, or a similar role, within the commercial real estate and high tech industry.
Strong knowledge of waste management laws, regulations, and industry standards in both North America and Latin America.
Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing waste reduction, recycling, and sustainability programs in both regions.
Knowledge of ESG data management system

Ability to analyze and understand data related to waste performance
