Inside the Role
We design, operate and control the Accounting and Financial Reporting process of DTNA. As a valuable business partner we ensure transparency, provide accounting guidance and services. As quality gatekeeper we drive compliance with accounting and financial reporting rules within DTNA and the Daimler Truck Division. This position plays a key role in the Accounting and Financial Reporting group. Key responsibilities include M&A projects, investments, dividend planning, capital planning, ESG reporting, technical accounting research using local methods and guidelines as a resource, writing white papers or position papers as required, leading the monthly accounting matters steering committee, and ad hoc projects. Must be able to work independently and cross-functionally within the areas of Finance, Controlling, Operations, Tax, Treasury, and other areas to research and resolve accounting and reporting issues and to ensure proper Accounting standards and best practices are applied. Review of general ledger account reconciliations and financial analyses to ensure that financial transactions are recorded in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS). Other responsibilities include preparing journal entries, documenting and assessing processes, contract review and communicating financial results, key performance metrics (KPI's) and issues and exceptions to accounting management and the external audit team.We Take Care of Our Team
Position offers a starting salary range of$98,500.00- $126,000.00 USD
Pay offered dependent on knowledge, skills, and experience.

Financial Reporting Tasks
Research relevant accounting issues around contemplated M&A transactions, investments, and capital planning changes, propose and document appropriate accounting treatments
Execution and oversight of financial reporting tasks and month-end close activities, analytical review of financial information, and review of operation of relevant systems, transactions, processes and controls to ensure the proper recording of and the accurate and timely filing of internal financial statements to Daimler
Establish, coordinate and monitor financial reporting procedures and train appropriate internal and outsourced personnel to perform financial reporting tasks timely and accurately
Prepare journal entries, provide support to and review all existing outsourced transactions and processes and manage and validate all system interfaces feeding SAP cbFC and/or MIF
General ledger accounting and financial analyses
Manage annual DTNA group dividend planning, debt limits and capital structure review process
Review of general ledger account reconciliations and financial analyses to ensure that financial transactions are recorded in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
Monthly review of reconciliations to ensure accuracy and quality is maintained for financial reporting related transactions and balances
Apply relevant guidance and perform necessary analysis for changes to accounting standards
Perform analysis and review of all significant changes to balance sheet and P&L
Prepare the required footnote disclosures for quarterly reporting purposes for ESG reporting
Prepare documentation of new and/or existing processes and policies, as necessary
Manage special (ad-hoc) assignments and projects as they arise
Business Partnering
Work closely with the central accounting team in Germany regarding M&A transactions, investments, ESP reporting, among various other topics
Research various accounting issues and propose appropriate accounting treatment, resolve accounting/reporting issues to ensure proper accounting standards and best practices are applied
Work closely with business partners to identify process improvements, internal control weaknesses, and various accounting issues
Communicate the accounting effects of transactions to accounting manager and to the business partners
Work to effect organizational or system change in order to achieve productivity, efficiency and control improvements.
Methods, Processes and Systems
Work with business partners to optimize and ensure reliability of ESG reporting
Research relevant new accounting issues and propose appropriate accounting treatment
Draft white papers supporting proper IFRS accounting treatment related to technical accounting issues and matters
Monitor and analyze current and developing legislation and regulations
Coordinate and ensure on an ongoing basis the completion of internal projects related to sound accounting processes and compliance with all IAS and IFRS accounting standards
Prepare documentation of new and/or existing processes and policies
Work with the business partners to identify process and/or system improvements
Reporting/communication of financial results and coordination of financial (regulatory) filings
Work to understand and communicate ESG reporting requirements across the organization
Communication of financial results and key performance metrics (KPI's) to management
Prepare and review KPI reporting metrics presented to management
Provide adequate communication to the MIF reporting group for appropriate reporting, including any group elimination requirements
Communicate issues and exceptions to accounting management and the external audit team
Provide quarterly external audit support, including preparing and delivering analytics package and perform year-end accounting and tax reporting
Internal Control over Financial Reporting
Perform evaluation of Internal Controls over Financial Reporting and ensure that the necessary controls are documented and tested in accordance with the Company's internal requirements
Work with the business partners to identify internal control issues
Cross-functional project work
Exhibit leadership in working cross functionally with business units to implement new business processes as a result of changes in business or accounting requirements
Routinely monitor, track and report progress of implementation on complex projects
Drive organizational and/or system changes to meet continuous improvement and customer centric objectives.
Knowledge You Should Bring
Bachelor's degree required
4-8 years of relevant experience required
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) required
Minimum 3-5 years large CPA firm experience
Current knowledge of IFRS and/or US GAAP
Experience in writing complex white papers/position papers
Minimum 3 years project management experience
