The Role:

As a Risk and Governance Analyst, your role on the Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) team will include leveraging your knowledge of policies, standards, controls, and industry best practices to consult with partners across the company. You will play a critical role in ensuring that GRC functions are incorporated into IT&S daily operations and all new technology projects while validating that risk mitigation functions within NW Natural IT&S are functioning correctly.

Day to Day:

  • Assist in the design, implementation, and execution of the Risk Management framework processes
  • In collaboration with IT process owners, lead the day-to-day activities supporting identification of material risks
  • Consult and guide technology and process owners with the establishment of necessary operating procedures and technical standards to mitigate these risks and comply with policies and standards
  • Communicate risks in a meaningful way to business units unfamiliar with security
  • Assist in assessing control design, self-assessment processes (RCSA), control testing, and identifying KPIs and KRIs
  • Manage the Risk Acceptance process and repository
  • Take a leading role in increasing risk awareness throughout the organization
  • Information Risk Aggregation and Reporting
  • Regulatory reporting (Including Sarbanes Oxley (SOX))
  • Interpret and apply laws, regulations, and policies
  • Coordination of Department Governance Documents.
Come on your first day with:

  • Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent education/experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Governance, Risk, Compliance, Audit or Security functions, preferably in technology. Additional years' of knowledge/complexity of assignments/experience required for level 3.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills -- ability to collaborate and communicate up/down and across the organization with internal/external partners
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong research skills and willingness to seek information
  • Strong collaboration skills
  • Ability to resolve conflicting opinions without compromising high quality risk management
  • General knowledge of risks associated with cloud and on-premise technology
  • Familiarity with GRC tools.
  • Highly responsive with an ability to handle escalations quickly and professionally
  • Excellent time management and ability to juggle multiple tasks under strict deadlines

Base salary range: $83,850.00-$119,450.00(Level 2) or $93,100.00 - $132,650.00 (Level 3) per year, depending on qualifications

Annual Target Incentive: Level 2,9.5% target
Level 3, 9.5% target
Targets are calculated using eligible earnings during plan year participation. Payout, if earned, is based on company and individual performance for each plan year and may range from 0% - 200% of target. Targets are subject to change in subsequent plan years. Must be employed by September 30 in order to receive any prorated payout.
