Job Description
Primary duties and responsibilities:
  • Assist local government agencies in the preparation of grant application for a variety of damaged public infrastructure to include roads, bridges, buildings and utilities
  • Write complex Project Worksheets (PWs) to determine project eligibility, scopes of work and estimating cost to repair or replace a facility/structure to restore it to its pre-disaster design
  • Ensure compliance with FEMA Public Assistance policy and procedure
  • Provide program or project management experience specifically related to the building industry and understand coordination and management. Training will be provided for individuals without prior FEMA experience to manage the PA grant delivery process (from Applicant assignment to Exit Briefing) for an average amount of 8 individual applicants simultaneously. The number of applicants will vary from approximately 1 to 15 depending on the number of projects and complexity of projects that an applicant claims.
  • Ensure program delivery in a timely, professional, customer-centric manner that meets all assigned Applicant's recovery priorities.
  • As important is customer focused /customer centric approach to program delivery.
  • PDMGs serve in a collaborative manner and will identify the basic characteristics of good working relationships and explain the need for maintaining positive working relationships with associates.
  • PDMGS make non-critical decisions effectively and take an active role in decision making in groups.

Knowledge, skills, and abilities:
  • Ability to successfully pass a background investigation to obtain the required FEMA badge.
  • 10+ years of relevant experience OR Master's Degree and 8+ years of relevant experience OR 14 years in field of expertise with complex construction projects.
  • Effective interpersonal and communication (verbal and written) skills.
  • Prior project management experience to plan, monitor, and control costs including how cost management processes interact with each other and with other project management processes.
