Job Description:

The Epic Client Systems Administrator is responsible for ensuring the CKD EHR platform demonstrates high reliability, scalability, performance, and recovery best practices to support business strategy and operations. There could be some travel associated with this work but should be no more than 25%.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Installing and managing the application deployment platforms that serve production, reporting, disaster recovery, training, and non-production needs
  • Installing and maintaining the administrative and monitoring tools necessary for high levels of availability and performance of our Epic system(s)
  • Maintaining an accurate inventory of hardware assets
  • Understanding performance metrics, monitoring system performance, and troubleshooting issues
  • Assisting in the configuration and troubleshooting of integrated third-party software and peripherals
  • Managing logins for different types of access, including login behavior and working environment configuration
  • Applying platform and Epic upgrades and updates to production and non-production components
  • Responding to emergency and after-hours issues
  • Engaging in capacity planning exercises to ensure adequate system resources
  • Collaborating with your technical teams and Epic to ensure proactive support
  • Writing and maintaining scripts to improve system management tasks
  • Participating in your change control process for all planned application and technical activities
  • Maintaining and testing processes related to business continuity
  • Following vendor and Epic best practices for hardware and software configuration
  • Managing print queues and Epic printing infrastructure
  • Deploying Citrix applications
  • Monitoring network and Web server activity for security breaches using intrusion detection techniques
  • Performing file system management

Core Responsibilities:

  • The Epic Client Systems Administrator will focus on managing, maintaining, & implementing the Epic Windows Server infrastructure, including installing/upgrading and/or deploying Epic applications on servers and clients using Kuiper, and System Pulse
  • Management and support from a technical perspective of the EPS, Web BLOB, BCA, Kuiper, and System Pulse services
  • Support of other Epic Windows-based applications
  • Create and maintain knowledge base documentation
  • Gather requirements from functional teams for their integrations with third-party products
  • Research, install, document, maintain and troubleshoot infrastructure needs
  • Peer development of team members
  • Assists in the testing of all production services and their supporting systems ensuring redundancy, resilience, and failover to ensure up-time standards are fully achieved
  • Develop, test, and maintain disaster recovery technologies and procedures.
  • Capability to work independently and self-motivate
  • Serve as a liaison between project leadership and client technical stakeholders
