Provides leadership and sets direction for the global direct & indirect strategic procurement function. Responsible for managing the day-to-day execution of all direct and indirect procurement functions; delivering agreed upon cost savings and benefits of category initiatives while achieving service level requirements of the business, and continuously driving the pursuit of procurement opportunities across multiple sites in multiple countries.What you'll be doing
  • Establish a comprehensive global sourcing strategy and drive the execution of global supply chain initiatives in collaboration with the business leadership team.
  • Provide guidance and expertise in lowering the total cost of indirect and direct materials and services without sacrificing quality or performance.
  • Identify and implement standardized sourcing processes across the business including onboarding new suppliers.
  • Negotiate complex contracts and ensures alignment with functional area goals.
  • Direct the supplier review process.
  • Manage projects and supplier relationships effectively while implementing initiatives that drive performance, lower total costs and mitigates risks.
  • Lead cross functional business activities to identify, qualify, and implement new direct suppliers in order to ensure surety of supply, deflation, and business profitability.
  • Drive the Request for Proposal "RFP" process for indirect purchases.
  • Develop and implement procurement policies and procedures for the business.
  • Holds oneself and others accountable to conduct business in a manner compliant with Bioventus' Code of Compliance, policies and procedures and internal controls applicable to their role.
  • Attract, develop and retain talent. Ensure focus and alignment with functional and company goals. Provide employees with continuous feedback and coaching using talent-and-performance management tools.
  • Collaborates with Audit & Risk Management function to identify business risks, and develop and implement preventive strategies for functional area.
  • Other duties as assigned
What you'll being to the table
  • Minimum of 7 years relevant supply chain or procurement experience. Global experience is preferred.
  • Excellent negotiating skills
  • Good understanding of both commercial and operation functions
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Ability to build strong partnerships
  • Strong PC application skills of various software packages (preferably SAP, Microsoft Office Suite: PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Outlook)
