Design Supervisor, Hardware and Kitchen & Bath - Rejuvenation

About the Design Team

The Rejuvenation design team consists of highly creative, collaborative and technical thinkers. As part of the team you'll bring your ideas to the discussion. Our role is to create both practical and innovative products with a story to tell.

Overview of the Role

As the Design Supervisor for Hardware and Kitchen & Bath, you will design high quality, beautiful, functional items across top driving categories. Each season, you'll work closely with the Design Director to translate concepts into cohesive products that reflect the market and customer/business trends. You'll lead, inspire, and project manage a team of designers. You'll work closely with a wide range of cross functional teams to develop designs from concept to launch.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage daily functions of the design team working across Hardware and Kitchen & Bath divisions.
  • Oversee design and development of all new developments across Hardware and Kitchen & Bath divisions, from initial concept through approval for PO placement.
  • Act as lead designer for all Hardware and Kitchen & Bath developments, while building strong relationships with merchandising and sourcing partners.
  • Gather market research to identify brand opportunities, bring forward upcoming design trends, and seek unique design details rooted in historical design research.
  • Create concept presentations that align with the seasonal quarterly concepts and overall brand trajectory.
  • Communicate ideas clearly and efficiently.
  • Create technical specifications for vendors to follow for quoting and development.
  • Work directly with global offices, vendors, and domestic partners to produce designs that align with the high quality standards for the brand.
  • Review samples, issue comments, and approve all product specifications and final samples.
  • Travel to factories and trade shows both domestically and internationally, as needed.
  • Track and manage product development tracker, budget, and finish standards.
  • Be a key player in weekly product development meetings and lead milestone presentations on a quarterly cadence for Hardware and Kitchen & Bath.

Criteria

  • Minimum 4 years product design experience, preferably in the housewares industry.
  • Design and product development skill required.
  • Experience designing housewares products within a quarterly launch cadence.
  • Ability to produce technical drawings proficiently.
  • Project manage developments within a quarterly launch cycle.
  • Experience using 3D CAD (Autodesk Inventor, Rhino, Solidworks, etc.) and Adobe Creative Suites
  • Collaborative and passionate about design, process, and team building.
  • Has the ability to work with a broad range of internal and external personalities.
  • Strong leadership skills with an openness to receive feedback.
