Your Role With Us:The Security Dispatcher at Salem Health processes incoming communications through radio/telephone/email/fax to on-duty field officers in a timely, reliable and accurate fashion while keeping field officers updated on current requests/events as approved by hospital policies and procedures.Core Functions:Provides support to all patients, visitors and staff concerning parking questions, registrations, lost and found, badge access requests and keeping staff up to date of safety alerts for the hospital.Process and vet all badge requests for employees, medical staff, contractors, vendors, volunteers, students, and tenants.Enter all information accurately and timely into the security's computer reporting system in accordance with departmental policies and procedures.Utilize and monitor video surveillance system for suspicious activity, criminal mischief or directing aid to someone in need.Monitor and respond according to policies and procedures to the following alarm types: Infant abduction prevention system Door alarms Intrusion detection Duress alarms Emergency call box calls Video alarms Other auxiliary alarm types.Archive paperwork per department policy and procedure.Total Rewards Offerings: Salem Health's comprehensive benefits package prioritizes your mental and physical health, financial stability, family obligations and professional growth.Relocation assistance available for qualified candidatesFull comprehensive medical, dental, and vision plansBasic and voluntary life insuranceShort and long-term disabilityLive Well Wellness ProgramEmployee Assistance Program (EAP) 401(K) retirement plan with employer contributions.Generous paid time off (PTO) accrual and holiday pay Onsite fitness center with 24/7 badge accessEducation assistance programPublic service loan forgiveness (PSLF) eligible employer https://studentaid.gov/Food and drink discounts in the cafeteria.Impressive discounts offered by Nike, Adidas, Carhartt and others.Background/Expertise:High School Diploma or Equivalent required.Basic Life Support (BLS via AHA) certification within 3 Months from date of hire required.Department of Public Safety Standards & Training certifications within 1 Month from date of hire required.Experience in security, law enforcement, military, customer service or call center is preferred; experience in healthcare security is highly desirable.Complete an initial violence prevention and de-escalation course by the end of orientation or within (6) months of hire. DPSST unarmed certification preferred or obtained within one (1) month of hire. NIMS HICS 100, 200 and 700 on-line certificates obtained within one (1) year of hire.Ability to type 35 WPM.Strong written and verbal communication skills; strong organizational and time management skills; knowledge in Microsoft office suite; ability to multi-task and prioritize based on severity of call or task.Salem Health Hospitals and Clinics is an equal opportunity employer.
