Join us as our new National Account Manager

This position works under limited direction and is primarily responsible for development and implementation of the account sales strategy for select National Accounts, in all species. This position will work with large distribution partners, blenders, feed mills, and dealers with emphasis on silage inoculant sales and market development, analyzing distributor reach and capabilities, annually. In addition, this position is responsible for influencing at all levels of the customer organization with the purpose of uncovering business development opportunities and maximizing the business relationship. The position will report to Head of National Accounts APH&N, North America.

In this role you'll make an impact by:

  • Working as a member of the National Account Team, NA to grow, maintain business, recruit new partners, and promote the Novonesis portfolio in all areas. Growth of the Novonesis Silage Portfolio is a key priority.
  • Developing launch plans, sales support tools and regional customer concepts with products and services based on customer demands to grow sales and improve profitability for both parties
  • Working with Regional Marketing and Technical Service through an integrated account team approach, to bring added value to partners with technical support, improved messaging, and positive positioning of the NovonesisPortfolio
  • Preparinginternal presentations for business cases on growth opportunities and areas for improvement
  • Facilitatingproduct and concept training for customers on new product introductions, enhancements, or new marketing claims for products, utilizing Chr. Hansen resources, including Product Management, Innovation, Technical Service, Marketing, and outside support functions
  • Collecting industry intelligence to strengthen long-term positioning (bringing new ideas and needs from partners to the forefront)
  • Havinga broad knowledge of North American Agriculture- from Feed mills, Distributions, Dealers, and end users in all species supported by the Novonesis Portfolio
  • Handling C Suite level meetings with top leadership at National Account Customers and Prospects
  • Tracking and analyzingdevelopments in sales performance versus budget and estimates across customers and products and shares findings with business unit management.
  • Negotiating major contracts involving comprehensive product, industry and competitive knowledge
  • Cooperatingwith and performing duties that require leadership, team building, cross functional communication with other teams
  • Participatingin group communication via phone / video as well as in person/on-site meetings to set priorities and business group strategy

To success you must hold:

  • Ability to read, write and speak English
  • Possess good negotiation and follow-up skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Possess strong technical as well as commercial (market) understanding
  • Possess strong communication skills with a track record of achieving results and experience in collaborating with different cultures and nationalities
  • Ability to make administrative, procedural, or employment-related decisions in a dynamic environment
  • Ability to develop, plan, and implement short- and long-range goals
  • Must have technical knowledge to know the right questions to ask customers
  • Must be a self-starter with drive and initiative and work with little supervision
  • Must have a passion for the animal health and nutrition industry
  • Ability to effectively communicate information and respond to questions from top managers, customers and other employees
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications for presentation and document creation
  • These characteristics are normally acquired through a Bachelors degree in a scientific discipline, and three to five years of experience in nutrition and management of cattle production as well as people and project management
