ABOUT THE JOB:

At Danone, Manufacturing the best products and supplying them to meet demand is a key driver for our plant teams. We are currently looking to hire an Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Specialist based in our Dallas, Texas beverage manufacturing facility to help support our night shift manufacturing teams. In this role, you will be responsible for the development and execution of programs to ensure that the Company provides a safe workplace for employees and minimizes impacts to the environment. You will lead compliance with all federal, state, and local environmental, health, and safety regulations and implement a sustainable environmental, health and safety management system at a plant level and drive EHS performance improvement and efficiency. This position will participate in the Danone EHS Leadership Network. The work schedule is open for discussion but ideally we are targeting a Monday through Friday 3pm - 12A schedule.

In this role, you will be responsible for:

  • Research safety and environmental regulations and provide support for compliance.
  • Participate in EHS compliance and management system inspections.
  • Supports the Plant Director or Plant EHS Manager in the development of EHS policies, standards and procedures based on regulatory and internal requirements.
  • Support improvements in safety (WISE2) and sustainability culture and performance.
  • Manage data collection and analysis of EHS metrics and reports including injury and illness, air, waste, energy and water data.
  • Serve as the plant Administrator of EHS Exchange and other data management systems.
  • Assist with preparation of environmental government reports and permits/certifications.
  • Participate or lead EHS projects to support energy conservation, best practices, lean and six sigma.
  • Assist in safety committees and safety awareness programs.
  • Conduct and mentor employees in behavior-based safety observations.
  • Assist with emergency response & evacuation planning.
  • Participate in job safety analysis.
  • Assist in creation and delivery of EHS training programs.
  • Assist with management of EHS recordkeeping.
  • Lead creation and deployment of site level EHS communications.
  • Support Workers Compensation claims and work with case managers on claim management and plan of action.
  • Collaborates with plant leadership relative to light duty opportunities and/or modified work, if available

ABOUT YOU:

  • You have a bachelors or master's in environmental, health and safety; Chemistry, or related field and have 3+ years of EHS experience within a manufacturing setting, required. In lieu of a completed degree, candidates must have 5+ years of relevant EHS industry work experience.
  • Candidates must be knowledgeable with OSHA and EPA regulations.
  • You have strong verbal and written communication skills and have exceptional leadership skills and ability to mentor and motivate (a real passion for EHS).
  • You have ability to serve as a change agent to drive process improvements and cultural change and can create alignment.
  • You are adaptable and flexible and can work well under pressure, effectively handling conflict, strict deadlines and multiple tasks.
  • You have the ability to assess and implement EHS best practices.
  • You have excellent organization, recordkeeping and documentation skills.
