Join us as our new Dairy Enterprise Manager - Silage & Probiotics

This position is primarily responsible for managing the top 5-10 largest US Dairy Enterprise accounts leading to substantial revenue and profit growth of the Novonesis portfolio with emphasis on growing sales of silage inoculants and probiotics.  Beyond brand planning and support, additional private label and customized solutions will be key focal areas to drive overall revenue growth as well as working in a team environment.  This position reports to the Director of Sales APH, North America.  Utilizing and building upon core value-added services (FQFM, laboratory analyses) as well as utilizing additional Sales and Technical Services support is key to growing our market share within these top dairy enterprise accounts.

 

In this role you'll make an impact by:

  • Identifing key decision makers and influencers within each dairy enterprise assigned to.
  • Developing sales budgets and sales plans for each beef enterprise.
  • Monitoring customer satisfaction in collaboration with Marketing.
  • Utilizing both external and internal support including Technical Services, FQFM’s, National Accounts, Key Account Managers and Leadership.
  • Working with National Accounts and channel business partners to maintain distribution and servicing of product to insure on-time delivery and use of prodcuts.
  • Leveraging company laboratory services to insure product integrity, customer retention and new customer growth.
  • Ensuring customer sales agreements are up to date; cost budgets are monitored and kept.  Responsible for implementing corrective actions if needed.
  • Managing customer complaints.  This entails collecting correct customer data and establish a direct communication between Sales and QA Management, so the complaint is treated professionally, fast and efficient.  Ensure the customer is kept updated during the complaint investigation process and notifies Sales Management if claims for compensation have been demanded or if the likelihood of demand for compensation is high.
  • Writeing monthly short report to Director of Sales on sales and market developments by account.
  • Evaluating market trends in order to leverage the portfolio correctly.
  • Analyzing sales statistics to formulate policy and to assist in promoting sales.
  • Representing the Company at trade association meetings to promote our products.
  • Developing and maintains contact with key universities and extension and consultants as well as is an active participant in the industry through professional organizations, conference and conventions.
  • Developing and encourages the growth of a dairy enterprise team.

 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Possess good negotiation and follow-up skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Utilize Sales Excellence process and tools.
  • Ability to make administrative, procedural or employment-related decisions in a dynamic environment.
  • Ability to develop, plan, and implement short and long range goals.
  • Must have technical skills to know the right questions to ask of customers.
  • Must be a self-starter with drive and initiative and work with little supervision.
  • Must have a passion for the food industry and working knowledge of the beef industry.
  • Possess a working knowledge in Microsoft Office programs. 
  • Ability to travel up to 75% of working time.
  • These characteristics are normally acquired through a Bachelor’s degree in a related business field and/or eight to ten years of sales experience in the food industry with a proven track record of sales achievement.  Five years of sales management experience desired.
